Zusammenfassung: | The reflection and transmission of Bleustein–Gulyaev surface waves incident normally upon the corner of a homogeneous piezoelectric wedge formed by two stress-free and metallized planes are investigated both by theory and experiment. Using a reciprocity relation for linear piezoelectric medium and surface terms of the appropriate Green’s function, the reflection AR and transmission AT coefficients of the Bleustein–Gulyaev wave have been determined as a function of the wedge angle θ and electromechanical coupling coefficient k15 of the piezoelectric body. The validity of the applied analytical method was verified by comparing experimental results obtained for lithium iodate (LiIO3) wedge-shaped specimens. The results calculated numerically for the power reflection ‖AR‖2 and transmission ‖AT‖2 coefficients show considerably better agreement with the experimental ones than those obtained previously. |
