Zusammenfassung:	We report on the design and performance characteristics of an absolutely timed x-ray streak camera. The camera displays UV(4ω) laser fiducials along side multichannel x-ray streaks thus allowing absolute timing of the x-ray signals relative to the laser pulse. As illustration, the implosion times of spherically irradiated microballoons have been measured with this instrument and the results agree well with hydrocode predictions.
