Zusammenfassung:Thermomagnetic properties of off-stoichiometric Ni54Fe19Ga27 Heusler alloys are measured by a laboratory differential scanning calorimeter employing Peltier cells and working under magnetic field. We find that the transition temperature from martensite (M) to austenite (A) is TM→A=5.3 °C and from A to M is TA→M=0.2 °C with a thermal hysteresis of 5.1 °C. The entropy change associated with the first order transformation is 15 J kg−1 K−1. By direct measurement and by Clausius–Clapeyron equation, we find that the effect of the magnetic field is a shift of transition temperatures of 0.2 K T−1.
