Zusammenfassung: | The application of ultrasonic radiation to the polished platinum cathode of an electrolysis cell increases the coefficient for the electrolytic separation of deuterium. The radiation also decreases the temperature dependence of the separation coefficient. This is thought to be due to the rapid removal of the discharged gases by the ultrasonic radiation. This prevents the surface-catalyzed exchange reaction between the discharged gases and the electrolyte. |
