Radio Frequency Pulse Generators to Produce a 1.8 kG Rotating Field in a Plasma
A circuit is described which produces a 2.17 MHz rotating magnetic field at the surface of a cylindrical hydrogen plasma column of 5 cm diam and 44 cm length. The field has a duration of 3.7 μsec. Line pulse generators are used. The spark gaps of the lines are triggered by a special ``synchronizer.&...

Zusammenfassung: | A circuit is described which produces a 2.17 MHz rotating magnetic field at the surface of a cylindrical hydrogen plasma column of 5 cm diam and 44 cm length. The field has a duration of 3.7 μsec. Line pulse generators are used. The spark gaps of the lines are triggered by a special ``synchronizer.'' With this device a number of generators can be connected in parallel in order to achieve higher power levels. Fields of 10–20 kG for application outside of plasma physics are possible. |
