Zusammenfassung: | The magnetic quenching (field-induced predissociation) of electronically excited I2 vapor has been measured as a function of excitation wavelength and iodine vapor pressure at fields up to 70 kG. Collision-induced self-quenching cross sections and magnetic predissociation efficiencies are quantitatively determined. From the latter data, a portion of the repulsive (0u−) potential-energy curve has been determined in the range 0.5–1.0 eV. |
