Zusammenfassung:The 450‐MeV electron storage ring SIBERIA‐1 with 100‐mA stored beam current was put into operation at the I. V. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy in 1983. In 1984 a 3‐pole superconducting wiggler was placed in the storage ring, which produced SR beams with a critical wavelength 21 Å. Investigations of phosphor‐crystal and high‐temperature superconductor luminescence, VUV‐spectrometry of wide‐band dielectrics, photoelectron spectroscopy of HTSC, etc. are being carried out. A 2.5‐GeV 100‐mA electron storage ring, SIBERIA‐2, is now under construction.
