Zusammenfassung:Experiments have shown that the unit mass resolution of conventional Wiley–McLaren time‐of‐flight (TOF) mass spectrometers can be significantly improved using the technique of impulse‐field focusing (IFF). Details of the circuitry used to test the IFF theory are presented. Generators of electrical pulses with nanosecond rise times and 100‐V amplitudes are described.
