Zusammenfassung:To the Editor: The conclusion by Katz et al. (Aug. 4 issue) 1 that microscopic nephrocalcinosis near the time of birth in patients with cystic fibrosis suggests that a primary abnormality of renal calcium metabolism is not justified on the evidence presented. The autopsy series on which light and electron microscopy was performed included only two neonates and one stillborn infant with cystic fibrosis. The ages of the control group, consisting of young trauma victims, were widely disparate. None of the controls were matched for age to the six patients with cystic fibrosis who were under one year of age. Terminally . . . No extract is available for articles shorter than 400 words.
