Zusammenfassung:To the Editor: We have recently seen a two-year-old girl with several dysmorphic features whose karyotype revealed an isochromosome for the long arm of number 9: 46,XX, -9,+i(9q) (Fig. 1). In addition, there was a strong possibility that fetal alcohol syndrome was present. There is one previous report of a karyotype of 46,XX,i(9)q/47,XX,i(9)q+mar in a list of 131 patients with mental deficiency and congenital anomalies, but no clinical findings were given. 1 The patient's mother was 35 years of age, and the father 34.
