Zusammenfassung:Abstract A pedicled colonic muscle layer was tested on its functional activity electromanometrically and on the morphological changes histologically in 3 different experimental pilot studies in the pig. After the abdomino-perineal pull-through combined with the removal of the sphincter (= control group), we performed one-layer (= Group I) and two-layer (= Group II) pedicled transposition of the pulled-through intestinal muscle cylinder. In Group III a circular myotomy of the intestinal wall was combined with the two-layer transposition as well as in Group II. Electromanometric investigation of Group I shows lower anorectal resting pressure than Group II or III. Histologically there were various fibrotic tissue changes in the muscle layers depending on the continuous dilatation of the anal skin stenosis and/or on the pre-extension of the muscularis. Reflex relaxation in the neosphincter was also detected in some cases.
