Facile Conversion of Alcohols to the Corresponding 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl Esters with Molecular Iodine and Potassium Carbonate in 2,2,2-Trifluoro­ethanol

Abstract A simple, effective, and high-yield procedure for the ­oxidative conversion of primary alcohols to the corresponding 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl esters, with molecular iodine and potassium carbonate in 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, was studied.
