Zusammenfassung:	Abstract Five new withasteroids, physachenolides A - E were isolated from the acetone and methanol extracts of leaves, flowers and stems of PHYSALIS CHENOPODIFOLIA Lam. The structural assignments of these compounds were based on spectral evidence. The absolute configuration of physachenolide A was established by X-ray analysis.
