Fallopian Tube Catheterization for Sterilization

ABSTRACT Selective fallopian tube catheterization is an established technique in cases of tubal infertility. It can be adapted easily to selective fallopian tube occlusion for sterilization. An essential question remains: what occlusion material, device, product, compound will ensure safe, easy, and cheap tubal sterilization via a transvaginal-transuterine route? In these conditions, selective tubal sterilization could be a challenge to surgical techniques. We review the history and recent advances in selective tubal sterilization.
