Ultrashort-pulse, terawatt, long-wave infrared lasers based on high-pressure CO 2 amplifiers
We discuss the state of the art, the ongoing research and development, and the potential for achieving a supra-terawatt peak power in few-cycle pulses at a long-wave infrared wavelength with a laser system based on high-pressure, mixed-isotope CO 2 amplifiers.
