Zusammenfassung: | A new configuration of a Printed Quasi-Yagi Antenna (PQYA) with monopole elements has been proposed for broadband operation, in this study. This three elements printed Yagi antenna consists of a fed monopole on one side of the dielectric substrate, whereas, the parasitic elements of a reflector and a director are on the other side on the ground plane. The presence of the ground plane effectively makes these monopoles function as dipoles, making it a compact three-element Yagi antenna. This compact PQYA, with simple microstrip line feed, yields broad bandwidth (BW) of 53.3% from 1.5 to 2.59 GHz for |S11| ≤ –10 dB with a gain of 4.65 dBi throughout the impedance BW in the end-fire radiation pattern.
