An unsymmetrically sandwiched bis(O 3 S 2 -macrocycle) lead( ii ) complex via an endo / exo -coordination mode

An unsymmetrically sandwiched complex was isolated from the reaction of O 3 S 2 -macrocycle with lead( ii ) perchlorate. The lead( ii ) centre is bound to one macrocycle in an endocyclic ( face ) mode and the other in an exocyclic ( edge ) mode, resulting in a di-capped trigonal prismatic geometry. The edge-to-face sandwich complex might be associated with the hemispherical lead( ii ) coordination.
