Zusammenfassung:We report the design and synthesis of a redox-active thianthrenium-containing sulfoximination reagent. Photo-catalyzed acetoxysulfoximination of styrene with various functional groups is described. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicated that the sulfoximination reagent ( 2aa ) received a single electron transfer (SET) from the photo-excited Ir(ppy) 3 catalyst to produce a sulfoximidoyl radical as a key intermediate in this transformation.
