Zusammenfassung:Hydrothermally synthesized homogeneous structures based on Ni, Mo, and S on Ni metal foam cathodes (NiMoSs) were characterized electrochemically. A NiMoS-containing cell exhibited a much higher specific capacity of 1534 A s g −1 than an FeS 2 cathode, owing to its homogeneous structure, demonstrating promise for thermal battery applications. It is well known that Mo and S are found on Ni-foam after hydrothermal synthesis as a MoS 2 /Ni 3 S 2 heterogeneous structure; however, we found that Ni, Mo, and S are homogeneously distributed on the foam framework. The Ni-Mo-S cathode shows a specific capacity more than thrice that of FeS 2 .
