Zusammenfassung: | IN several acid salts of carboxylic acids the acidic hydrogen atom has been found to be involved in a hydrogen bond across a centre of symmetry. This type of hydrogen bond was classified by Speakman et al. as an A-type1. The question now is whether the hydrogen atom is located precisely at the inversion centre. This problem has been investigated by X-ray and neutron diffraction, resulting in two apparently conflicting results. |
