Zusammenfassung:THE frequency and importance of nodulated non-leguminous plants are becoming more widely recognized. Allen and Allen 1 have presented a summary of non-leguminous symbiosis in both the gymnosperms and angiosperms and emphasized analogies with the legume–rhizobia symbiosis. Several workers 2–4 have used nitrogen-15 to demonstrate that fixation of atmospheric nitrogen does occur in the nodules of many non-leguminous plants.
