Zusammenfassung:ACCORDING to Steinhaus 1 , Mally 2 may have been the first to mention in 1891 a wilt disease in Heliothis armigera (Hbn.). Later reports of this disease came from Glaser and Chapman 3 , Parsons 4 , and Stahler 5 . Because of the economic importance of this insect and the possible use of the virus for control purposes it was decided to investigate the causative agent.
