Zusammenfassung:I DISCOVERED a large colony of the arctic lichen Siphula ceratites (Wg.) Fr. in April 1955 on the Coulin Forest of Wester Ross (lat. 57° 32′ N., long. 5° 22′ W.). The species is circumpolar, markedly disjunct and predominantly coastal in its distribution 1 . It has been recorded from western and northern Norway, Swedish and Finnish Lappmark, the Petsamo area, Novaya Zemlaya, Siberia, Japan, the Aleutian Islands, the Bering Strait region and the Himalaya but not hitherto from the British Isles.
