Holes in Crystals
THE screw dislocation mechanism of crystal growth proposed by Frank 1 has been verified by the observation of growth spirals on faces of beryl 2 and silicon carbide 3 . In particular, the recent work of Verma 3 provides very satisfactorily a confirmation of many of the theoretical predictions.
