Positive Point-to-Plane Spark Breakdown of Compressed Gases

THE increase of spark breakdown potential of gases with increase of pressure does not apply for all electrode configurations. It has been shown 1–4 that an anomalous decrease occurs in the positive point-to-plane breakdown potential of some gases at several atmospheres pressure.
