The preparation and structural characterization of two monomeric covalent species, Sn(η5-C5Me5)Cl (1) and Sn{η5-C5Me4(SiMe2But)}Cl (2), are reported, including solid- and solution-state multinuclear NMR spectroscopic data and, for 1, a molecular structure determination.
