Parameter-Free Theory for Stress Relaxation in Star Polymer Melts
We present a theory of stress relaxation in star polymer melts with no adjustable parameters beyond those measurable in linear melts. Zusammenfassung: | We present a theory of stress relaxation in star polymer melts with no adjustable parameters beyond those measurable in linear melts. We incorporate the effect of higher Rouse modes on star arm retraction and the Colby−Rubinstein scaling of entanglement length within “dynamic dilution”. Our results for G‘‘(ω) compare well with experimental data, with excellent agreement in shape and within a factor of 2 in time and modulus scales. |
