Zusammenfassung:Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence measurements were conducted on newly synthesized Frechet-type dendrimers with naphthalene peripheral groups in homogeneous and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micellar solutions. Intense excimer emission was observed for the third-generation dendrimer 3 but not for the first-generation dendrimer 1a. This different spectroscopic behavior was attributed to the geometry of dendrimer 3, where excimeric interactions between adjacent π-stacked naphthyl groups are present.
