Zusammenfassung: | The aim of this study is to compare different types of solvents and amines for extraction of carboxylic acids from fermentation broth and to find the most effective amine−solvent composition for the extraction. Studies have been made of the extraction of l-(+)-lactic acid and citric acids from fermentation broth by tridodecylamine (TDA), a long-chain tertiary amine, and Amberlite LA-2, a secondary amine mixture. These extractants dissolved in different solvents which have different chemical structures. The extraction of acids was carried out at 298 K. Comparison of the results was made using the distribution coefficients (K d), loading factor (Z), and the percentage of extraction yield. 1-Octanol was found to be the most effective solvent with a maximum distribution value of 4.25 and 37.93 for TDA and Amberlite LA-2, respectively. |
