Zusammenfassung: | A phase equilibrium study of the bismuth-bismuth trichloride system has been carried out. The experimental techniques included sampling at temperature, thermal analysis, and visual observations. The miscibility gap was found to be closed at a consolute tempenature of 780 and 51 mole % Bi. In the two liquid phase region, the solubility of the salt in the metal increased with increasing temperature while the solubility of bismuth in bismuth trichloride decreased from 45% at 320 to 28% at about 550 . Results in the liquid-solid region are reported and compared with those of earlier workers. (auth) |
