Zusammenfassung:The application of a fully automated upflow three-phase microreactor to evaluation of a hydrodesulfurization catalyst is illustrated. Reliable kinetic parameters are obtained, showing that solvent vaporization is carefully accounted for. Despite the small dimensions of the reactor (120 mm long, 6 mm i.d.), it is possible to define experimental conditions where plug flow prevails and gas−liquid mass transfer is instantaneous.
