Zusammenfassung:An inexpensive and simple capacitance sensor has been developed for void fraction measurement of two-phase flow of gases and liquids in cylindrical channels. The sensor causes no flow disturbances and the output is independent of channel diameter. The sensor is especially suitable in terms of sensitivity for void fraction measurement in annular flow. The governing electromagnetic equations are solved to give predictive relationships between void fraction and sensor signal, and the predictions agree with the experimental results. 13 refs.
