Baeyer-Villiger Oxidation of Indan-1-ones: Monitoring of the Reaction by VPC and IR Spectroscopy
Indan-1-Ones are oxidized into dihydrocoumarins either by CF3CO3H, which is prepared from TFAA and 30% commercial H2O2 or by MCPBA in refluxing dichloroethane. VPC and IR analysis are used for monitoring of the reaction.
