Factors affecting the shape of current-potential curves

Current-potential curves can be used by the analytical chemist for qualitative and quantitative determinations and by physical chemists in the determination of thermodynamic and kinetic information about electrochemical systems. This information is only useful when there is an understanding of the factors that influence the shape of the voltammetric wave. This article attempts to provide such an understanding.
