Deriving S = k ln Ω
Most physical chemistry texts do not try to prove that the entropy as defined in a statistical thermodynamics is the same as the entropy in classical thermodynamics. Such a treatment of the topic is somewhat incomplete. The author of this article provides a needed treatment in this article.
