Zusammenfassung:A feasibility study is presented concerning the incorporation of N3- in alkaline-earth aluminates with a magnetoplumbite- or β-alumina-type structure. A comparison is made with Mg2+-substituted alkaline-earth aluminates with a magnetoplumbite or β-alumina-type structure. Various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, luminescence spectroscopy (on Eu2+-doped samples), 27Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and IR spectroscopy are used in order to distinguish between the magnetoplumbite- and the β-alumina-type structure as well as to investigate the incorporation of N3- and Mg2+. The incorporation of N3- is possible for materials with a β-alumina-type structure, resulting in BaAl11O16N, but negligible for materials with a magnetoplumbite-type structure (Sr and Ca).
