Zusammenfassung: | Evolved gas analysis Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to investigate the high-temperature reaction between bis(2,4-pentanedionato)lead(II) and water vapor. 2,4-Pentanedione, acetone, and carbon dioxide were the principle gaseous products produced, and powder X-ray diffraction indicated that lead oxide and lead metal were the principle solid products formed. The equilibrium concentrations of all gaseous products and reactants were determined as a function of temperature and equilibrium constants were estimated from these data. The enthalpy of formation for bis(2,4-pentanedionato)lead(II) was determined to be −865 ± 10 kJ/mol. |
