[Bi10{RuPPh3}3]−: Paramagnetic 13-Vertex Polybismuthide Heteroanion

Ru­(PPh3)3Cl2 reacts with Bi n n– from an ethylenediamine (en) solution of K5Bi4 to yield a new architype of 13-vertex [Bi10{RuPPh3}3]− (1) composed of unprecedented incomplete cuboidal Bi7 3– and triangular Bi3 3– held together by {RuPPh3}2+.
