Preparation of Deuterated Solvents for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometry

Methods are reported for the preparation of deuterated acetone and chloroform for nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry. The materials cost of one batch of deuterated acetone equals the cost of 100 ml of heavy water or about 20 cents per gram of deuterated acetone. (P.C.H.)
