Zusammenfassung:The procedure for the extraction of thorium with 2thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA) was modified, whereby gram quantities of thorium, free of the basic salts of TTA, can be extracted in a relatively short period of time. The pH of the solution is controlled during the extraction bv addition of acetate solution of pH 4.5. Relatively large quantities of thorium are separated rapidly from many elements such as the members of the alkaline earth and rare earth groups. (auth)
