Zusammenfassung:A new method for the determination of molybdenum at trace levels has been developed, which is based on the electrochemical reduction of dioxobis(8-quinolinolato)molybdenum(VI). The complex is formed and extracted from the sample matrix into chloroform prior to its reduction at -1.08 V vs. SCE in dimethyl formamide. Only tungsten co-extracts and it does not interfere with the analysis. A linear calibration curve is obtained for the concentration range from 0.1 ..mu..M (9.6 ppB) to 100 ..mu..M (9.6 ppM). The method has been applied to plant samples that have been grown on fly-ash amended soils. 3 figures, 2 tables.
