Zusammenfassung:Healthcare systems must understand the unique needs and challenges advanced practice providers. The purpose of this project was to conduct a professional fulfillment and burnout (PF/B) survey to APPs and then implement a health system wide support structure. A survey of 270 APPs in one system was conducted to evaluate PF/B and intent to leave their position. The findings were used to develop an improvement model to address the organizational culture of wellness, practice environment, and personal resilience. Results revealed that personal/organizational values alignment, self-compassion, sleep-related impairment, meaningfulness of clinical work, perceived appreciation, perceived negative electronic health record experience, control over schedule, satisfaction with clinical practice, and professional development time were statistically significant findings related to PF/B and intent to leave. Attention to APP PF/B fulfillment at the health system level is essential to create an organization-wide improvement strategic plan that is effective.
