Zusammenfassung: | The use of ultrasound guidance for the detection and removal of foreign bodies within soft tissue is a procedural skill that can be taught to emergency medicine residents during their training. Soft tissue models can be used to give learners the opportunity to practice this skill prior to in vivo exposure on an actual patient. Tofu has been used by others as a phantom model/task trainer for the purposes of ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, nerve block/regional anesthesia, as well as peripheral intravenous catheter insertion. Gamification has also been used in the training process to keep learners engaged.
The authors present a tofu based phantom model for soft tissue foreign bodies where the foreign bodies were used as clues to unlock the room and escape. |
