Zusammenfassung:•The cumulative incidence of MINS and postoperative mortality after noncardiac Surgery was 17% and 20%, respectively.•The meta-analysis revealed that one patient will experience postoperative myocardial injury after noncardiac surgery for every five noncardiac surgery.•There is significant regional disparity in MINS and mortality which might be attributable to advanced age, pre-existing comorbidity, higher ASA physical status, and less optimal preoperative optimization.•The stakeholders should implement mitigating strategies to evaluate, optimize, diagnose, and manage timely and appropriately.
