Regional anesthesia: Epidurals, TAP blocks, or wound infiltration?

Regional anesthesia is an important part of Enhanced Recovery Pathways following colorectal surgery. By facilitating decreased opioid consumption, wound infiltration, blocks, and neuraxial anesthesia promote quicker return of bowel function and decreased side effects.
