From pharmacovigilance to pharmaceutical care: About a case of urticaria and angioedema

The concept of “pharmaceutical care” was developed in 2017 in Algeria to globally define the practice of clinical pharmacy. The EHU Oran pharmacovigilance department has thus benefited from the integration of pharmaceutical care to improve drug management. We report a clinical case of urticaria and angioedema in a 22-year-old female patient in a context of polymedication with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). A notification was sent to the pharmacovigilance department to estimate the causality assessment. The aim of our article is to illustrate the integration of pharmaceutical care system with the pharmacovigilance, based on this clinical case. Le concept de "soins pharmaceutiques" a été développé en 2017 en Algèrie pour définir globalement la pratique de la pharmacie clinique . Le départemennt de pharmacovigilance du CHU d'Oran a alors bénéficié de l'intégration des soins pharmaceutiques pour améliorer la gestion des médicaments. Nous rapportons un cas cliniqiue d'urticaire et d'angioedème apparus chez une patiente de 22 ans dans un contexte de polymédication par anti inflammatoires non stéroïdiens (AINS). Une alerte fut transmise au département de pharmacovigilance pour évaluer les liens de causalité. Le but de cet article est d'illustrer à propos de ce cas l'intégration du sytème des soins pharmaceutiques à la pharmacovigilance.
