Zusammenfassung: | In this work, we investigate the generalized Brewster effect in random and periodic metasurfaces, composed of identical spherical high-refractive-index nanoparticles. We chose silicon as an example of a high-refractive-index material, and report the existence of generalized Brewster angles for p and s polarizations in both types of metasurfaces, localized at different wavelengths and incident angles. The physical mechanism for this phenomenon is associated to the angle-scattering suppression due to the interference between the electric and magnetic dipoles induced in each silicon sphere forming the metasurface. We found that the optical properties of the single particle are better preserved for the random metasurface than for the periodic one. We believe that our results represent the first demonstration of the generalized Brewster effect in random metasurfaces. |
