Zusammenfassung:The Encore active target detector is a Multi Sampling Ionization Chamber developed at Florida State University (FSU). Encore has been successfully used to measure fusion reactions with CH4 gas as well as (α,p) and (α,n) reactions using helium gas in the detector. The portability, self-normalizing, high-efficiency, and versatility of the Encore detector makes it ideal for measurements with low-intensity radioactive beams. This paper provides details on its development, operation, and analysis procedure. It also presents the results of benchmark experiments and comparison with existing data and calculations.
