Zusammenfassung:COVID-19 is a disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2), whereas multiple sclerosis (MS) is a central nervous system immune-mediated inflammatory disease. Since there are limited studies done about MS as a risk factor for COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia, this study aims to assess the possibility that MS presents a greater risk for patients affected with COVID-19 through assessing the severity of COVID-19 symptoms in MS patients, assessing the severity of MS symptoms in patients infected by COVID-19, and assessing the correlation between COVID-19 immunization vaccine in MS patients and the increased severity of the disease. This is a retrospective cross-sectional study that includes Riyadh's King Abdulaziz Medical City's MS patients who were vaccinated for and/or infected by COVID-19. Data were collected by using the “BESTCare” system, which is a system developed by MNGHA. There was a statistically significant relationship between COVID-19 test results and vaccination type, as (51.6%) of the subjects with negative COVID-19 tests received Pfizer-BioNTech. All subjects who did not receive COVID-19 vaccination had positive tests. This study concludes that COVID-19 vaccination has a significant impact on preventing MS patients from contracting the infection. Additionally, data found suggests that COVID-19 may increase MS complication risk. The complications that have been observed to have become worse are deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, cardiovascular disease, and organ failure. Also, there are two patients who stayed in the ICU for three days each.
