Zusammenfassung:•A 2-fold interpenetrated coordination polymer with 41,263 net was obtained.•The ligand is 9H-carbazole-2,7-dicarboxylic acid.•1 could be a potential fluorescence sensor material for MnO4− with high selectivity. A carbazole-based coordination polymer [Zn8L6(μ4-O)2⋅DMSO⋅(H2O)3]·5DMSO (1, H2L = 9H-carbazole-2,7-dicarboxylic acid, DMSO = dimethyl sulfoxide) has been synthesized under solvothermal condition. The complex 1 possesses the two-fold interpenetrated 41263 coordination net and ligand-based blue-light emission. The luminescence titration experiments indicate that 1 could selectively detect MnO4− by luminescent quenching in the concentration range of 0–100 μM in water with Ksv of 17,030 M−1. The possible quenching mechanism has also been discussed. We report a two-fold interpenetrated Zinc(II) coordination polymer 1 with 41,263 net based on 9H-carbazole-2,7-dicarboxylic acid. 1 exhibits selective fluorescence quenching response for MnO4− with the Ksv value of 17,030 M − 1.
